Learn More About Ultrasound

Ultrasound, also called sonography, uses sound waves to develop ultrasound images of internal organ conditions.

An instrument called a transducer emits high-frequency sound, inaudible to human ears, and then records the echoes as the sound waves bounce back to determine the size, shape, and consistency of soft tissues and organs.

This information is relayed in real time to produce images on a computer screen. This is an invaluable diagnostic tool that will help in the detection of disease so that a plan for treatment can be formulated quickly.

Pets are shaved in the area to be examined, and clients can expect the procedure to take 35-40 minutes.
